Pre-opening coordination and planning

Vital to the successful launch of any hotel property is the attention to detail that is required to bring about permanent success for a hotel. We include following key areas in this support process.
 
  • Pre-Opening Budgets and monthly Orient & Occident Pre-Opening fees approved prior commencement of activity approximately 1 year prior opening. 
  • Timely recruitment of leadership as well as rank and file staff in line with community and country labour laws. Set up of benefit plan for owners approval.
  • Advance planning and of all OSE & FFE to be in line with having on time delivery of all items to enable smooth opening transition. 
  • Planning of all back of house areas with particular attention to adequate storage, support systems, and space for effective operation. 
  • Development of Operating process, policy and procedures combined with intensive pre-opening training in all areas with particular attention to health, life and safety protocols.
  • Advise owners on Insurances, Liabilities, Asset listings and management thereof.
  • Production of uniforms, collaterals ( menus, inroom guides – both online and offline versions). Employee handbooks and guides in compliance with labour laws. 
  • In addition to this we support the design and installation process with the various consultants, construction, architect and ID teams. 
  • Pre-opening launch and marketing + sales activity occuring at least 9 months prior opening date.

Project consulting

  • The Orient & Occident Company provides a service that includes concept development, master-planning and full feasibility study for all projects. Fees for this work are varied in respect of pre-agreed client scope. 
  • We also provide Project Management Services through delivery of the project to the operators or to ourselves in the event we are also the operating company.

Limited period Operations to handover

  • As a luxury boutique hotel operator we provide Hotel Management Agreements including operations, sales & marketing, and reservations. As a guideline fees include loyalty fees, gross operating profit fees, and marketing & reservations related costs. Our agreements are based on minimum of 7 year terms with options for longer. 
  • We also provide Hotel Management Consultancy support services with fees based on a 2 year retainer fee basis.
